Dear Daisy Dog

After driving my children to summer day camp, I turned off the car, set the keys on the passenger seat, and jumped out to hug the kids goodbye. Our family dogs remained in the car.

Mid-hug, I heard a loud click and realized our pug had stepped on the key fob and locked the car doors. Fortunately, a friend saw what happened and drove me home to retrieve a spare set of keys.

In the future, I’ll take my keys with me whenever I leave the car -– and I suggest others do the same.

Daisy Responds

Mom had a similar experience when one of the dogs locked the car doors by tapping the power lock button itself.

Thanks for recommending a way to prevent a surprisingly common problem.
