Dear Christopher Cat

My two outdoor cats shed heavily throughout the year, but I don’t see any bald areas. They eat premium food, they don’t have fleas or ticks, and they’re otherwise healthy. How can I minimize their shedding?

Christopher Responds

We cats shed, some of us more heavily than others. If your kitties’ coats look normal and you can find no areas of thinning hair, then everything is undoubtedly fine.

One of my feline sisters sheds the way your cats do. Her fur piles up around the house just one day after Mom vacuums.

When Mom has time, she brushes and combs us to remove as much loose hair as possible. That means less hair on the furniture -– and less for me to groom and ingest.

I love to tell readers when their pets are healthy. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share some good news with you today.
